“We are having a little sell-off and a stronger dollar is definitely having an impact on it,” said Phil Streible, a Chicago-based commodities broker at RJO Futures. “The Fed is probably not going to announce any quantitative easing today.”
“The U.S. economy is continuing to pick up and we are seeing that in retail sales,” Streible said. “The U.S. is well ahead of most other countries in the recovery curve and that’s attracting investors to the U.S. dollar.”
